Disaster Restoration: What Exactly Is It?
October 13, 2017
Today is the International Day for Disaster Reduction – a day to promote risk-awareness and limit disaster risk exposure, and to focus on reducing disaster-related mortalities. In honour of this important day, we at DKI Canada wanted to give a brief overview of our services, and what exactly “disaster restoration” means.
Disaster restoration is an emergency service for your home or business. After a natural disaster strikes and once people are safe and removed from the disaster area, home and business owners need a plan to clean up, restore, and possibly rebuild their structure. That’s exactly what the disaster restoration industry is for. We can quickly and carefully remove your remaining possessions to prevent further damage (known as a “pack-out” in industry terms), place them in storage, and then return them to your home when possible. In addition, disaster restoration services include cleaning and restoring what is able to be salvaged, and for full-service locations like DKI Canada companies, rebuilding when necessary.
DKI Canada is available 24/7 to help put your home or business right, no matter the problem. Some disaster restoration companies only focus on fire or flood, but all of DKI Canada’s locations are full-service. This means whether it’s a flood, fire, or storm, or even mould and environmental remediation, any of our locations can help. We are a one-stop shop when it comes to disaster restoration.
DKI is also the largest disaster restoration contracting organization in North America. This means that no matter where you are across Canada, we likely have a location in your area that can be of service. With 78 locations across the country, DKI is able to provide rapid response wherever you are. We also have the largest equipment inventory in North America, making us well suited to respond to a disaster of any size, under any condition.
In addition to quantity, DKI Canada also has quality. We have 1500 experienced professionals able to restore your homes and businesses, and our technicians are IICRC certified. IICRC stands for Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification, and is the standard-setting organization for restoration industries. We are also continually advancing and refining our organization by staying up-to-date with the latest techniques and technologies in the industry.
We also bring this innovation to you, the homeowner. DKI Canada has a mobile app you can download on your iPhone, Blackberry or Android. You can then submit a priority request straight from your phone, and you will be contacted within 10 minutes of your submission
When disaster strikes, you want to be able to focus on the safety of yourself and your family. That’s where DKI Canada comes in. We take care of your home or business so you can take care of what matters most.
